About Touched by Nature hooded towels
The hood is doing the work a bath towel cannot: a wet baby loses heat from the head first, and getting a hood over it is the difference between a calm minute on a changing mat and a screaming one. These are organic cotton rather than terry-and-polyester, which means they take a little longer to dry on the rail and feel less scratchy on skin that has just been in warm water.
They are sized for a baby, not a toddler, and most families retire them somewhere around a year, at which point the washcloths that came in the pack carry on for another two, usually in the kitchen. Buy two if bathing happens in the evening: a towel that has not dried by the next night is the reason people end up using a bath sheet instead.
